Painted solid birch bench designed by Finnish-American architect Eliel Saarinen for the study of his wife Loja at Cranbrook in 1929 and reissued by Adelta Oy circa 1987 in Finland. Pierced framework with geometric pattern in gold leaf and upholstered in original fabric designed by Irma Kukkasjärvi. Bench is tagged on the underside with signature plate and numbered 286.
