A set of six late 20th Century McGuire of San Francisco “Cracked Ice” dining chairs designed by John and Elinor McGuire.
The design, in the Chinese Chippendale style, is iconic for it’s rattan oval back with smaller ratan pieces inside it, bound by rawhide, creating the impression of cracked ice or shattered glass. These beautifully handcrafted dining armchairs with a deep red finish are in very good condition. They feature generous cane seats, gracefully curved armrests, and fretwork corners. Each chair retains a McGuire maker’s plaque and an inlaid M.Seats are 19″ high with cushions. Cushions are vintage in a gold brocade.
